Rangitoto Performing Arts

OUR VISION

To challenge and inspire all students to fulfil their potential in any Performing Arts discipline or genre.

To interweave curriculum and co-curriculum into an effective Performing Arts platform on which relevant, real-life learning occurs.

To foster the highest standard of collegiality and collaboration amongst students and staff, so that Performing Arts becomes an equal and integral part of school culture.

Staff are passionate about providing diverse opportunities for students to participate and perform, and our co-curricular programmes aim to cater for a wide range of ages and abilities.

Co-Curricular Activity

The diploma points system is designed to recognise every student’s contribution to life at Rangitoto College.  To ensure equity, and reward students effectively, co-curricular points are now standardised across Sports, Performing Arts, Culture, Clubs, and Service. Students earn points for participation and contribution,  accumulating toward three key milestones of their White, Red and Blue Diplomas:

⚪ White Award: 25 Points

🔴 Red Award: 50 Points

🔵 Blue Award: 75 Points

Progress will be updated termly upon the completion of service, sports season, performing arts, culture and club events and activities.

There are many pathways in which a student can achieve points, and our system balances two key ways of being involved:

  • The All Rounder: If you love trying everything from Robotics and Amnesty International to Social Badminton, you will earn points across different categories that lead to your Diploma.
  • The Specialist: If you are highly dedicated to a specific field such as a Premier sports team or a lead role in the school musical, the system recognises the significant hours and leadership you provide.
