A chance for students to support wāhine in their school by ensuring access to sanitary products across the school.

Meeting times: Training session at the start of the year or term as needed, then 8.20am on rostered days through term time

 

Location: Health and Safety Office

Our Student Ikura Advocates ensure all students get the best chance at learning, by removing cultural and access barriers and supporting wellbeing.

Students ensure the Ikura sanitary dispensers are stocked regularly, to make sure no young person has to miss learning, sports, cultural activities, or feel uncomfortable at school because they don’t have access to the products they need.

Co-curricular Points

  • 5 or 10 points will be added to profiles when criteria are met, dependent on the service opportunity.
  • 5 points will be added for every 2 hour service threshold met e.g. Student Advocate attending 4 x 30 minute shifts for Ikura Restocking.

In order to have your Service Opportunities activity added to your profile in time to be recognised at prizegiving, please ensure it is added by:

  • Year 9, 10 and 11: 20 November 2026
  • Year 12 & 13: 24 September 2026
