The Fijian Meke is a way of storytelling through dance. It embraces traditional song and dance to conjure up the legends, spirits, history and love stories found throughout Fiji.

Event scheduled dates: 
The group will perform at various cultural events throughout the year, including whānau hui and the Pīpīwhauroa festival.

The Fijian Meke Club is all about celebrating Fiji’s awesome culture through the traditional dance called Meke.

The club is a fun place to learn and get involved. We have performances that bring everyone together to enjoy Fijian culture and to make new friends. The club is a welcoming space for individuals of all backgrounds to learn, experience and participate in the Meke. 

Rangitoto Summit Diploma

A minimum of 5 practices must be attended per term. You will be required to perform for events.

  • Year 9 and Year 10: 21 November 2025
  • Year 11: 19 November 2025
  • Year 12 and Year 13: 18 September 2025
