For someone to thrive or succeed, they must be properly supported and equipped.

The Māori & Pacific Success Celebration Evening at Rangitoto College is a special occasion dedicated to honouring and uplifting the achievements of our Māori and Pacific students. It is a time to acknowledge those who have helped enhance the mana of their cultural identity at Rangitoto College.

These students lead by example, contributing meaningfully to cultural life, both inside and outside the classroom. In doing so, they create pathways for others by educating and inspiring their peers, and guiding their communities on journeys of identity, belonging, and self-discovery.

The evening also serves to acknowledge the unwavering support of whānau, cultural leaders, and staff who walk alongside our students. It is through this collective effort that cultural pride and understanding are fostered.

A highlight of the evening is the vibrant array of performances from our cultural groups. These performances are more than entertainment as they are powerful expressions of identity, connection, and unity. They bring together whānau, kaiako, and community in celebration of the values that lie at the heart of Māori and Pacific cultures: aroha, whānaungatanga, manaakitanga, and whakapapa.

Ultimately, this event is a celebration of contribution in cultural leadership, resilience, and pride in what our Māori and Pacific students bring to our kura. Their presence and influence enrich the lives of all those around them, helping shape a more inclusive, connected, and culturally grounded future for Rangitoto College.
