Esports continues to be a popular competitive sport at our school. Students enjoy being able to garner all of the attributes and social aspects of regular sports, with a fraction of the physical exertion.

Esports is competitive gaming.  There are several interschool competitions each year, organised by a variety of companies.  The games they choose are usually team-based.  In 2022, the main tournaments are in Valorant, League of Legends, NBA2K, and Rocket League.  Later in the year, there are likely to be short one or two weekend tournaments in Legends of Runeterra and Teamfight Tactics.  Previous years have also seen tournaments in CS:GO, Clash Royale, and Dota 2.

Our school has had considerable success in Esports, coming first in Australasia in League of Legends, as well as last year coming first in NZ for the inaugural Valorant competition.  Prior to Covid-19, our top teams were flown to Australia to compete, with free flights, accomodation, and winning plenty of computer peripherals.

Sign-ups are via advertisements in the daily notices prior to each season/competition commencing.
