Rangitoto College’s 2021 Dux is Cameron Senior. His list of academic achievements during his school career is truly remarkable.

In 2021 Cameron obtained a 100 per cent GPA, achieving Excellence in all Achievement Standards entered. This follows his 2020 NCEA Level 2 performance, where he gained 128 Excellence Credits out of 128 entered.

As a result of Cameron’s performance in the 2020 NZQA Scholarship examinations, he was the recipient of one of 12 Premier Awards. He received Outstanding Scholarships in English, History, and Health and Physical Education, along with Scholarships in Art History, Biology, and Calculus. This placed him in the top echelon of scholars nationally and the only Year 12 student in the country to receive a Premier Award.

Cameron’s school reports indicate incredible academic engagement with, application to, and mastery of, subject knowledge. His teachers have appreciated his enquiring mind and positive approach to learning.

Cameron reaches far beyond the classroom in terms of his engagement and excellence in school life. He has represented the Advanced Open Debate team and coached junior debating, along with being a member of the Big Band and Jazz Combo Montreux music groups. He has displayed leadership through his involvement as an Academic Committee leader, Amnesty International leader, Red Cross leader, and Peer Support leader. He was selected as a member of the 2021 New Zealand Biology Olympiad team, which won a bronze medal at the International Biology Olympiad.

Congratulations and well done, Cameron.
