Tēnā koutou e te whānau whānui o Rangitoto.

Welcome to our first edition of Vista for 2024. For our new readers, Vista is our digital magazine that showcases the diverse talents of our Rangitoto College students, along with providing an insight into school life.

The exceptional summer weather has enabled us to quickly swing into the provision of a range of opportunities within, and beyond, the classroom. Our annual Expo has been extended to include clubs and service groups alongside the traditional sports focus. This has led to record numbers of sign ups by students to co-curricular activity groups, extending the range of opportunities for students to become positively involved in school activities. In the past week, I have been delighted to witness the range of groups in action. Summer season sport is in full swing and winter sports training and trials are starting up, with our new Directors of individual codes making an immediate impact. Cultural activities have been visible with preparation underway for performances on the Diversity stage at Polyfest and Kapa Haka coming together to develop a new bracket. Teacher and student leadership of a wide range of clubs – from visual art to crochet, diabolo to volunteer work with Knightsbridge Village, has seen classrooms and outdoor spaces humming with activity. For those students who are yet to sign up, it is not too late and we encourage you to step into a new area. Co-curricular activity offers all students the chance to build new friendships, demonstrate leadership and to find and follow a passion.
