Our Performing Arts Department was proud to deliver an outstanding (and completely sold out) season of the full-scale Broadway production, Shrek The Musical. This ogre-sized project was the focus of almost 100 students and staff—with endless hours spent on cast and orchestra rehearsals, set building, making swamp vines, painting leaves, collecting props, sourcing and creating costumes, rigging lights, putting up posters, pushing ticket sales, and knitting together the thousands of details large and small to ensure the production ran smoothly and was of the highest possible standard.

The Performing Arts Department would like to thank absolutely everyone involved in making Shrek The Musical such an enormous success, including everyone who bought tickets, took the time to give us feedback, and spread the word about the show. It takes a great deal of dedication and perseverance to stage something of this quality, especially in such a short time frame, and we couldn’t have been happier with the result.

We hope you enjoy this selection of photos—there are plenty more on our Performing Arts at Rangitoto College Facebook page.

“Please pass on our congratulations to all involved, from the background helpers to the main cast, and everyone in between. I know how much time, effort, and hard work goes into something like this, over weeks and weeks of planning, casting, and then rehearsals, not to mention the elaborate costumes, set and scenery, lighting, and music. It really was fantastic.”
