This term featured New Zealand Sign Language Week. Anna Schrott, a Student Librarian, made a wonderful interactive display using sign language to highlight the week and encourage students to give sign language a go.
Along with the display, a competition was run to get students to use the sign language alphabet to help translate her message. It was a successful competition with students getting involved and learning and gaining confidence in using New Zealand Sign Language.
It has been a busy term with other Student Librarians being involved in making displays to highlight library resources and celebrating special days such as Pink Shirt Day, Cultural Week, and Samoan Language Week. Thank you to Gus Rose, Oscar McMillan, Mimi Matsumara, and Dominic Ma for assisting with these displays.
