Rangitoto College is committed to fostering academic and personal excellence by guiding students toward meaningful growth and contribution. Our key outcomes include:

  • Embedding school values to create a pathway that nurtures excellence and empowers students to make a positive difference in the world.
  • Focusing on academic achievement and improvement in junior years across all subject areas to build a strong foundation for future success.
  • Encouraging involvement in leadership and co-curricular activities to help students develop personal skills, confidence, and pride.
  • Promoting service and community engagement, both within and beyond the school, to cultivate a community-minded perspective.
  • Supporting the behaviour curriculum to ensure student conduct aligns with school values, fostering a learning environment that enables success.

Supporting and challenging our junior students

The Rangitoto Summit Diploma recognises students across six key areas of achievement:

  1. Academic Achievement Gaining Excellence grades in tests, assessments, and exams. For students in Year 11 and above, Merit (M) or Excellence (E) grades recorded on school reports contribute toward this criterion.
  2. Academic Progress Demonstrating improvement in academic performance through sustained growth and effort.
  3. Extra-Curricular Involvement Participating in clubs, activities, or sports beyond the classroom.
  4. Service and Leadership Contributing to the school and wider community through service or leadership roles.
  5. Attendance Maintaining high attendance rates to support consistent learning.
  6. Behaviour Demonstrating behaviour that supports academic engagement and success.
