Supporting and challenging our junior students

The Rangitoto Summit Diploma is designed to support and challenge our Year 9 and 10 students, encouraging well-rounded development across academic and personal domains.

There are three levels of achievement within the diploma:

  • White – First level
  • Red – Second level
  • Blue – Highest level

To be awarded a diploma at any level, students must meet the criteria in five out of six categories:

  1. Academic Achievement
  2. Academic Progress
  3. Extra-Curricular Involvement
  4. Service and Leadership
  5. Attendance
  6. Behaviour

The Rangitoto Summit Diploma recognises students across six key areas of achievement:

  1. Academic Achievement Gaining Excellence grades in tests, assessments, and exams. For students in Year 11 and above, Merit (M) or Excellence (E) grades recorded on school reports contribute toward this criterion.
  2. Academic Progress Demonstrating improvement in academic performance through sustained growth and effort.
  3. Extra-Curricular Involvement Participating in clubs, activities, or sports beyond the classroom.
  4. Service and Leadership Contributing to the school and wider community through service or leadership roles. Required service hours by endorsement level:
    • White: 5 hours
    • Red: Additional 5 hours
    • Blue: Additional 5 hours For service completed outside the college, students must consult their Deputy Principal to confirm eligibility.
  5. Attendance Maintaining high attendance rates to support consistent learning.
  6. Behaviour Demonstrating behaviour that supports academic engagement and success.
