BACK

Over the 22nd and 23rd May, Rosmini College played host once again to the annual Model United Nations Assembly (MUNA)- an impactful event organised by Rotary. This simulation brought high school students together from several schools across Auckland and Northland which provided a dynamic forum for us to debate pressing global issues, explore diverse geopolitical perspectives and dive headfirst into the world of international relations.

Rangitoto College was represented by 2 exceptional teams this year, who stepped into the diplomatic shoes of both Japan and Belgium.

Our teams were:

  • Japan: Anna Armitage, Avesta Abar & Fiza Dhala
  • Belgium: Henna Hwang, Jessica Xu & Ashvir Singh

Stepping into the United Nations framework offered us an eye-opening look into the state of global politics today, alongside refining our public speaking skills and diplomatic negotiation. It was also great for us to network with other students from other schools.

As a returning participant from the 2025 MUNA, it was equally awesome to connect with familiar faces and have more confidence in the events’ system. We asked frequent POIs (Points of Information) and were actively involved in the remit discussions.

I’m so proud of how our teams performed and the collaboration we pursued in the whole preparation process.

For those who think this sounds interesting, I’d highly encourage you to get involved in MUNA 2027 and join the UN Youth club at our kura.
