The Strategic Plan is the Board’s key guiding document. It outlines our vision, ambition, objectives, and targets — aligning both with the National Education and Learning Priorities (NELP) and the Board’s own goals for Rangitoto College.
This plan includes a Vision and Ambition Statement, as well as a three-year Strategic Plan that sets the direction for the College. To support its implementation, an Annual Plan translates strategic goals into practical, achievable initiatives that drive progress year by year.
The Rangitoto College School Board is committed to ensuring every student receives a high-quality education that enhances learning, respects individual and community needs, and celebrates cultural identity. Our goal is to challenge students to pursue personal excellence and reach their full potential, supported by school activities that foster pride, integrity, and courage.
Honouring Aotearoa’s Heritage We are dedicated to growing students’ awareness and understanding of New Zealand’s bicultural heritage. The Board honours its obligations to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, acknowledges the unique place of Māori, and embraces the multicultural nature of our school community.
Strategic Oversight and Planning Each year, the Board reviews its priorities as outlined in the Strategic Plan to ensure alignment with its long-term objectives. Progress is monitored through the Annual Plan, which is developed by the Principal in collaboration with teaching and administrative leaders. Updates are reported to the Board on a termly basis. Governance policies are closely aligned with strategic planning areas and are reviewed over a three-year cycle to ensure they remain relevant and responsive to the Annual and Strategic Plans.
