Touch at Rangitoto College
Rangitoto College is proud to revitalise our Touch Rugby program, building on a renewed momentum that began with our senior mixed team’s 2022 National appearance. Following a period of limited activity, the sport is thriving once again, culminating in our ability to field both Boys’ and Girls’ teams competing at the 2025 NZSS Touch Nationals.
A defining highlight of this resurgence occurred in early 2024. After securing the North Harbour title, our Senior Girls’ team defeated Baradene in a spirited promotion match to earn prestigious Premier status. They continued their impressive form to claim a silver medal in the Premier Grade—a remarkable achievement that has officially established Touch as a Premier Sport at the College.
Our vision is to build a sustainable foundation for the future, offering both social and competitive pathways. We are committed to providing our rangatahi with consistent opportunities to represent Rangitoto College with pride at regional and national levels emphasising on development and growth.
While Term 1 Touch is traditionally a senior sport, moving forward we’re opening the field to everyone! Our goal is to get our junior rangatahi (Years 9 & 10) out there, staying active, and having a blast in a fun and supportive environment.
To make this happen, we need you! If you’re interested in supporting our players through coaching or managing, we’d love to have you on board. Please reach out to the Sports Department to get involved
