Our Year 13 Ball was a night to remember! This was one last time to come together and celebrate friendship, laughter, and unforgettable memories. Here’s to the Class of 2026!
Our Textile students showed off their talents at the New Zealand Fashion Week “Walk the Line” competition! Well done to Year 11 student Brooke Donald who won Top Avant-Guard award for the Year 11 category. Phoebe Willis also received an honourable award for her gown made of sails. Well done team!
Last Monday, our Arts Committee put on the hugely anticipated Dancing with the Staff!
Back by popular demand, twelve student dancers paired up with nearly 30 staff members across six departments. Our Year 9 Deans team took home the win with their `90s throwback moves, while the Social Science and English departments were the runners-up.
Congratulations to everyone who competed at the KBB Music Festival!
A special congratulations to our Big Band, who received the award for Best Performance of a Work in an “Other” Style and were selected to play in the gala, and to our Chamber Orchestra, who received Best Performance of a New Zealand Piece.
We’re so proud of everyone who performed and all of our conductors for their hard work!
Congratulations to our Premier Netball team, who have secured the Netball North Harbour Premier Title 2026!
After an undefeated season at Harbour, our Premier Netball team clawed back from a 9-goal deficit to win the title by 1 goal. The team also competed in the Netball Waitakere premier competition, finishing third overall.
Thank you to our Head Coach Miss Sowter, Assistant Coach Teresa Russell, and Manager Kelly O`Dea, as well as Waitakere competition Assistant Coach Miss Nicol and Manager Michelle Buckley, for their leadership and support throughout the season.
In Week 5, we had an incredible week celebrating Tongan Language Week! This year’s national theme is “Ko `etau hiva, ko e fe`unu mahu`inga ia ki he mo`ui `a e Tonga” – Our music is a vital strand of our Tongan culture.
Across the kura, our Pacific community brought this to life through creative and vibrant energy. We had a sei flower-making workshop, lunchtime volleyball, a lolly lei workshop and capped off the celebrations with dance performances from our Tongan dance groups.
A massive thank you to all the students and staff for bringing such vibrant culture and unity to our school.
Safe travels and best of luck to SERENATA choir! Selected as one of the Top 24 choirs in the country - and departing school this morning for the Big Sing National Finale in Christchurch! Go well team!

RYDA – Road Safety Education workshop
All Year 12 Gateway students had an amazing opportunity to attend the RYDA Road Safety Education workshop the other week. They learnt valuable lessons about how to stay safe on the roads, whether they are a driver or passenger, and heard from various presenters who equipped them with skills that will last them for life.
ShadowTech
This week a group of female students were selected to attend ShadowTech at Westpac in the CBD. They learnt about the different roles in the world of tech (it’s more than just coding!), heard from a variety of speakers and were part of interactive activities to broaden their knowledge. Plus, they were even fed pizza for lunch! The day was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
