Tēnā koutou e te whānau whānui o Rangitoto,
The numerous achievements celebrated this term are a testament to the exceptional opportunities shaping our students. As the school with the largest roll in Oceania, we consistently leverage our size to benefit the community.
Our partnership with Knightsbridge Village is a powerful example of the mutual benefits achieved through community collaboration, strengthening our connections and environment. The service commitment embraced by many students signals their ambition to make a positive difference. I am proud of the substantial contribution our students make through a variety of flourishing environmental, charitable, and outreach programmes.
Our dedicated teaching staff has successfully navigated a year of significant progress. With education undergoing rapid change, we are well placed to implement the refreshed curriculum and achieve improved student outcomes.
While our formal partnership with the local Kahui Ako has concluded, we remain committed to sharing best practice and strengthening the pathways from primary and intermediate schools into Rangitoto and beyond. I extend my thanks to Campbells Bay, Mairangi Bay, Murrays Bay, Pinehill and Browns Bay primary schools, and to Murrays Bay Intermediate, for the significant strides forward we have made together in the past eight years.
I wish our 2025 school leavers the very best for their future endeavours and look forward to following their exceptional achievements. With this being my final Vista article, I would like to thank our community wholeheartedly for your support during my tenure at Rangitoto College. It has been a true privilege to serve my own community as Principal, and I believe the school is in an excellent position for the incoming Principal in 2026.
I wish you all a happy and healthy Christmas and New Year, and hope you enjoy a truly wonderful summer break.
Patrick Gale, Principal
