Tēnā koutou e te whānau whānui o Rangitoto.

Following an interrupted start to 2023, we are now settling into routines and establishing the high expectations that we hope all of our students strive for this year. Our thoughts remain with those families in our community who continue to battle with the ongoing effects of the cyclone and flood damage. We appreciate your community support shown for our Red Cross NZ Disaster Fund fundraiser to provide much-needed aid for the recovery programme.

Our online Vista magazine gives us the opportunity to celebrate the many achievements of our Rangitoto community over the course of the past few months. This first Vista edition of 2023 showcases the diversity of opportunity within the school and outlines a small cross-section of student involvement in school life. Rangitoto College takes pride in providing a rich range of extracurricular opportunities for students to take advantage of, and hope that all of our students will engage in school life beyond the classroom.

The Student Leadership Programme for 2023 is up and running. Our 38 student leaders, led by Head Students Joshua Peng, Kaia Buckley, Hayun Seo, and Nic Ouwehand, have begun the process of recruiting Year 10 13 students to their eight Leadership Teams with over 220 applications being received thus far. We look forward to the wide range of student-led events that these leaders will deliver to Rangitoto over the course of the year and congratulate them on their selection to these important roles.
