Rangitoto College aims to give every student the opportunity to excel.  As well as the National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA), the College offers the International Baccalaureate Diploma. This Diploma has the potential for the right candidate to teach a class within this program in these curriculum areas of Science, Mathematics, English, Languages, Geography, Economics and History (Social Sciences). Grounds person - Hours negotiable

Rangitoto College is looking for a Grounds person who has knowledge and experience in sports field maintenance.

Our ideal candidate will be results focused, energetic, and friendly. They will enjoy working as part of a small team and be equally comfortable working alone when required. Essential for success in this position will be communication and ability to speak and understand English to a conversational level.

This position focuses on maintaining our sports fields to the highest standard. Daily duties include; mowing, spraying, marking, planned maintenance and maintaining field equipment. Additionally, this position also involves supporting the Property Team with general property maintenance.

Visual Arts Teacher - Full-time LTR

Rangitoto College invites applications for a LTR teaching position across the Visual Arts Department, commencing at the start Term 4, 2025 and finishing end of Term 1, 2026Design specialist preferred. Please state other media or subject expertise.

 

We seek an innovative and enthusiastic teacher who has a deep interest in the visual arts and the creative industries, as well as in pedagogy. The department is collegial, collaborative, creative, and effective, with passionate teachers who specialise in a range of media. Large (for an art department), we consider our diversity to be our strength. The right candidate will be an art teacher with excellent classroom routinesartist model knowledge, and the ability to break down art techniques to support a range of abilities.

Contract and remuneration will be in accordance with the Secondary Teachers’ Collective Agreement (CA) https://www.education.govt.nz/school/people-and-employment/employment-agreements/collective-agreements/. as assessed by the Salary Assessment Unit of the Ministry of Education. Annual remuneration is dependent on service and qualifications, between $61,329.00 – $103,086.00 per annum plus allowances as above. Hours of work will be as set out in the STCA.

 

All staff are expected to contribute towards our extracurricular programme.

Guidance Counsellor - LTR Term 3 only - 2 days

Due staff leave within the department, Rangitoto College invites applications for a part time, fixed term Guidance Counsellor for Term 3, 2025.

We seek an innovative, professionally trained counsellor (teaching qualification preferred but not essential) who has a deep interest in the wellbeing of our youth, and is a current member of NZAC, or working towards full membership. The counselling department is collegial, organised and well-resourced, and is part of a high-performing school which aims to give every student the opportunity to excel.

Helping students to explore their difficulties and concerns, and to develop their capabilities and resilience

 

  • Fostering conditions in which a student can grow and develop as a person
  • Offering leadership and sharing expertise in promoting positive relationships
  • Promoting awareness of and respect for difference
  • Advocating for those who are disempowered
  • Providing psychoeducation to students to enhance wellbeing
  • Working with families individually and connecting them with support agencies in the community as necessary.
