What a fantastic run for our Senior Tag teams! From the first whistle at the North Western Zone day, our teams dominated the field, resulting in both our Senior A Boys and Girls qualifying for Auckland Champs.
The highlights didn’t stop there—our Senior A Boys took it all the way to the podium, bringing home Auckland Championship Silver!

A massive congratulations to Will and his sailing teammate for finishing 2nd overall at the SailGP Inspire event. It was a tight fight in the breeze, with the duo finishing just 3 points shy of the win!
The week was topped off with a tour of the Black Foils base, TV interviews, and a trophy presentation on the main stage. What an experience!

Kotahitanga Day 2026!
What an incredible day of teamwork, house pride, and non-stop energy. Our students and staff turned up the heat with amazing vibes and even better school spirit. Huge props to our Year 9s, Peer Support Leaders, and Student Leaders for absolutely crushing it at all 15 stations. From the bright house colours to those legendary class chants, you all made it a day to remember.

A few of our Year 12 students were given the opportunity to bungy jump off the Harbour Bridge thanks to Blue Light North Harbour. Blue Light works in partnership with New Zealand Police to deliver an extensive range of youth programmes and activities. This jump was part of the Live More, Fear Less campaign.

We are thrilled to announce that Grace Giles has been selected as a trialist for the 2026 New Zealand Secondary Schools Netball Team.
Trials will take place this April, marking an outstanding achievement, not only for Grace personally but for the entire Rangitoto College Netball community. Seeing her hard work and dedication lead to this national opportunity is truly inspiring.

CAS is an important component of the IB Diploma programme. In Term 1 our group focus is the Active element of CAS. The Year 12 IB students visited MERC, Long Bay to participate in a range of engaging water and land-based activities encouraging them to step outside their comfort zones and develop personal skills.
Our focus was on teamwork, effective communication, and leadership as well as practical water survival skills.

Thank you to everyone who came down to the flagpole to welcome the Lunar New Year at the Rangitoto Lunar Festival, organised by the Chinese and Korean Student Committees. It was amazing to see people of all cultures trying our traditional games and food.
