Yolanda Zhang, Hamish McLean, Zachary Yu, Gwang Ho Kim, Austin Picard, Ken Li, Sunny Xiao, Poresha Yee, Emily Chen, Kyle Tac, Felix Luo, Chris Kumala, Finn McLuckie, and Ilya Bondin
And a monumental shout-out to Year 12 student Joshua Wang for not just competing, but for taking home the 1st Place overall trophy! His achievement showcases the exceptional talent our students have for economic theory and current issues.

We’re incredibly proud to celebrate two of our outstanding Mathematics teachers, Ngaire and Harriet.
Ngaire was awarded the Kalman Prize for Excellence in Mathematics Teaching in the category of Equity for Pasifika learners, recognising her exceptional dedication to inclusive education.
Harriet was one of only five recipients nationwide of the 2025 Kalman Teacher Fellowship, valued at $5000. Building on this achievement, she has also secured a Ministry of Education study award, which allows her to take time to complete her Master’s degree while continuing her leadership journey.
Congratulations to both Harriet and Ngaire on these well deserved honours.

Chris received a Highly Commendable award in the incredibly prestigious John Locke Economics Essay Competition. This is an amazing achievement, as he placed in the top 3% globally from over 63,000 entries, most of which were from Year 12 and 13 students.

We are delighted to announce the outstanding achievements of our students in the recent Junior Mathematics Competition (JMC) and Senior Mathematics Competition (SMC).
Our SMC team delivered a significant performance, securing Gold Medals in both the Individual and Team categories. Further accolades include 2nd, 4th, and 7th place in the individual standings, and 3rd in the team category.
In the JMC, our students demonstrated exceptional talent with:
11 students placing among the Top 30 in New Zealand.
A total of 123 Distinctions and 162 Merits awarded.
