Beach Volleyball

The shifting sands of Mount Maunganui and Karapiro have provided the perfect stage for Rangitoto College’s beach volleyball athletes to showcase their exceptional talent. This season has been one of unprecedented success, with our students securing national titles, podium finishes on the professional circuit, and prestigious national selections.

National Representative Honours

We are incredibly proud to announce that five of our elite athletes have been selected for the 2025/2026 New Zealand Under 18 Beach Squads. This selection places them among the top youth players in the country as they begin their journey toward international competition.

Inter-Provincial & Junior Tour Triumph

The Inter-Provincial Championships (IPC) at Mount Maunganui saw our athletes representing their regions with clinical precision. A special mention must go to Zaria Ruby and Kyra O’Shannessey, who claimed the NZ Under 17 Title, proving themselves the pair to beat in their age bracket.

The success continued at the NZ Junior Beach Tour events, where Rangitoto students dominated the podium:

• Gold Medalists: Fletcher Gaylard and Kyson Norton (Boys Section)
• Gold Medalist: Sienna Hickling-Crane (Girls Section)

Bronze Medalists: Zaria Ruby and Kyra O’Shannessey
