Tēnā koutou e te whānau whānui o Rangitoto,

A warm welcome to Vista for the 2026 year. For those new to Vista, we hope that the publication gives you an insight into various aspects of school life in which our students are involved.

At the start of the year, students and staff were greeted by multiple school improvement projects, with construction on the new-build Technology/Library block fully underway. This is an exciting time for the College with the first major classroom block build in over 20 years. The block will offer our school community state-of-the-art technology classrooms, a research and innovation hub, and a school library reflecting the scale of our school. We are also scheduled to receive a modular 10-classroom block this year to support our roll growth.

We were delighted by the outstanding academic results achieved in 2025, including a phenomenal 348 Scholarships. Our Level 2 results were also pleasing, reflecting the added rigour and sequenced knowledge we have introduced to our Year 11 Diploma programme. This aims to prepare students better for our Year 12 and 13 dual academic pathway qualifications.

The opportunities afforded to our students are a result of the collective efforts of our school community and I wish to thank all those involved in supporting our students within and beyond the classroom. We look forward to the remainder of the 2026 academic year and celebrating our students’ continued success across various aspects of school life.

Ngā mihi nui,

Peter Morton

Acting Principal
