2025 has been yet another amazing year, with most students having the opportunity to participate in work experience placements, take part in various courses, and attend inspiring presentations from industry leaders.
We had an increase in Year 12 students keen to join the Gateway programme this year, so ran an additional class with Amy Reddy being our new Gateway teacher.
To start Term 4, our Yr 12 Gateway and Yr 13 Pathways to Employment students, plus their parents/caregivers, had a special breakfast at the Rangi Centre to celebrate our programme. The class teachers, careers team and senior school staff also attended.
We also acknowledged the wonderful contribution of the local employers who provide workplace experience and mentorship for our students. These placements took place across a wide range of industries, including education, construction, real estate, personal training, plumbing, marine and many more. A special shout-out to the students who gained either part-time or full-time employment via their work experience placement this year. It just shows, if you have the right attitude, it gets noticed!
Our amazing class award winners this year were Chole Willis, Brody Donald, Vico Huang, Anabelle (Bella) Lamb and Joshua (Josh) Ferrissey. They all put in an outstanding amount of effort and impressed us with their work ethic both in class and on work experience placement.
We hope that the Gateway/Pathways to Employment experience has empowered our students to be inspired about their future and enabled them to make informed decisions about their prospective career pathways. We wish them well on their journey.
