Kī-ō-rahi

Kī-ō-rahi is a traditional Māori sport that is a new to Rangitoto College. It combines the skills of tag, rugby, and capture the flag. It’s played on a circular field with two teams, and the goal is to score points by touching a central target (the “pou”) while defending your own team’s target. It’s a fast-paced, strategic game that emphasises teamwork and agility. There are 2 Auckland zone day competitions with the opportunity of attending Nationals if they are successful at the Auckland competition. Seniors are in Term 3 and juniors are in Term 4.

If you are interested in joining or simply want to ask more questions for either of these sports, please contact Lisa Wiki (Sports co-ordinator) lisa.wiki@cloud.rangitoto.school.nz
