Māori & Pacific Success Evening

For students to truly thrive, they need to feel supported, valued, and equipped to succeed. The Māori & Pacific Success Celebration Evening at Rangitoto College is a special occasion dedicated to honouring and uplifting the achievements of our Māori and Pacific students. It is a time to celebrate those who enhance the mana of their cultural identity and enrich the life of our kura.

Our students lead by example—contributing meaningfully to cultural life both inside and outside the classroom. In doing so, they inspire their peers, educate others, and guide their communities on journeys of identity, belonging, and self-discovery.

This evening also acknowledges the unwavering support of whānau, cultural leaders, and staff who walk alongside our students. Together, we foster cultural pride, resilience, and understanding.

A highlight of the celebration is the vibrant performances from our cultural groups. More than entertainment, these are powerful expressions of identity, connection, and unity. They bring together whānau, kaiako, and community in celebration of the values at the heart of Māori and Pacific cultures: aroha, whanaungatanga, manaakitanga, and whakapapa.
