At Rangitoto, our core principles of netball are centred on participation. We recognise that participation looks different for everyone, and we value the unique contributions of all members of our netball whānau
We are committed to fostering a positive and encouraging environment where all players can thrive on the court. With 30 teams and over 300 students involved in playing, umpiring, and coaching, our programme offers a place for everyone to belong and grow.
Within our Open College programme, our Premier 1 team is a consistent contender in the North Harbour Premier grade and competes in the A Grade at the Upper North Island Secondary Schools (UNISS) tournament. Open College 2 also plays in the North Harbour Premier grade and has regularly secured top-four finishes.
Our Open College teams, competing in the Netball North Harbour Open A and Open B grades, continue to deliver strong performances, as do our competitive Year 9 teams, reflecting the depth and strength of our netball programme
We have recently established a Year 10 Development Squad, training under the guidance of our Director of Netball. This squad will be participating in various local and regional tournaments, contributing to the continued growth and development of our netball programme.
Our student-made teams can be just as competitive as our competition teams. These teams enjoy playing within their friendship groups and often maintain the same team makeup through to their senior years. This continuity fosters strong on-court connections, lasting friendships, and a fun, supportive environment both on and off the court.
We are expanding our netball programme by gaining exposure to different styles of play through participation with other netball centres.
