Rangitoto College has given me many amazing opportunities and has been extremely helpful in helping me fit in. Right from the start of my high school journey, I was encouraged to connect with our Learning Centre, where I primarily utilised extra time. Since then, the Learning Centre has grown into a vital part of my educational journey, providing me with the specialised resources, guidance, and encouragement that I need to truly succeed. As the work becomes more advanced, the department has continued to help me keep up with the heavier workload.

Being a Year 12 student at Rangitoto College comes with a lot of pressure. It is a crucial academic year where the workload for NCEA Level 2 increases significantly and the concepts become harder. In a school as large as Rangitoto College, it can be easy to feel overwhelmed by these demands. Using our Learning Centre has been vital in helping me navigate these challenges and push my academic limits. The department has completely transformed how I approach my education, giving me the tools to actively improve my marks and aim for higher achievements. They have also guided me throughout my learning journey by facilitating Special Assessment Conditions (SACs), allowing me to complete my internals and exams to the best of my ability.

Overall, our Learning Centre has been an incredible part of my learning journey and has helped shape the person that I am today. I am truly grateful for the dedicated staff who had the patience and belief in me that made my years at the college a true success. This constant support has helped me grow into a much more confident student over the years. Looking back, asking for help from the department was one of the best choices I have ever made.

Rangitoto College has proven exceedingly helpful in allowing me to achieve academic success, thanks to the dedicated assistance of the Learning Centre team. Having access to a supportive environment and Special Assessment Conditions (SAC) has completely changed how I approach my heavy academic workload. While keeping up with complex assignments can be a challenge, the structured help from the Learning Centre has given me the right tools and environment to focus entirely on showing what I can do.

This support has been awesome for my confidence when dealing with tough topics. With the Learning Centre team guiding me, I’ve been able to successfully work through complex assignments—like writing up group data reports or handling tricky physics experiments. The extra conditions mean I can complete my assessments to the absolute best of my ability, ensuring my learning differences don’t hold back my actual potential.

As a Year 12 student, utilising this help has allowed me to really improve my grades and flourish this year. Once I finish high school, I plan to head into the Navy. I know that the academic habits and confidence I’ve built with the Learning Centre will keep guiding me toward that next step.
