This term, our senior Spanish students stepped out of their comfort zones to participate in the National Spanish Debating Competition. This event challenges students to debate real-world issues entirely in Spanish.

Debating in a second language requires immense bravery, problem-solving skills, and hours of commitment. We could not be prouder of our team: Pearla Raffo, Tia Juma, Madelief Everiss, Phoebe Gits, Rita Nakar, Anna Blackett, Eunice Manansala, Nicola Hays, Tessa Jenkins, Antonia (Toni) Hoelzl and Isabella Bedoya-Lopez. Reflecting this hard work, one of our team members also stepped up to compete for the Best Speaker award.

A special highlight for our school was also having one of our students participate in the demonstration debate for heritage speakers. This opportunity allowed them to showcase their high-level linguistic competence while expressing immense pride in their cultural and linguistic background.

Felicitaciones (Congratulations) to all our participants for representing our school with such passion and dedication!
