Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) is a central component of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, encouraging students to grow through experiences beyond the classroom. Recently, our Year 12 and Year 13 IB students came together for the Combined CAS Morning—an opportunity for newer students to learn from those further along in their CAS journey.

The morning began on the top field with a “donut-style” activity, where Year 13 students formed inner circles while Year 12 students stood in outer circles facing them. In rotating groups, Year 13 students shared insights about their CAS experiences, including the three annual CAS events, extracurricular involvement, and their CAS projects. Through short conversations and small interactive games, the activity helped provide some inspiration and encouraged open discussion.

The session then moved to the staffroom, where Year 12 students worked more closely with Year 13 mentors. Here, students received practical guidance on managing CAS through ManageBac, including how to log experiences and write effective summaries and reflections.

By the end of the morning, Year 12 students left with valuable advice, new connections, and inspiration for the CAS experiences that lie ahead.
