BACK

What a fantastic start to Book Club 2024. The weather was so nice we opted for an outdoor meeting and just as well, with 86 attending! It was wonderful to see so many returning along with 30 plus new members across all levels. It was a casual meeting with everyone catching up after the holidays and sharing their favourite reads over summer.

There was a prize draw for submitting Book Reviews, along with a ‘Star’ rating for holiday reading and Olivia Htut was the winner – receiving a novel and a notebook. Olga Domracheva also got a book for her reviews. Seren Basson got a book prize for filling up the Rangi Book Club stand in the Library. A big thank you to Holly Saunders for the delicious peppermint slice she shared with everyone—it was a real winner.

We are lucky to have four enthusiastic, book-loving teachers, Alisha Tilbury, Nada Al-Safi, Corrie Morrissey and Claire McKay assisting Librarians, Cherrill Hurley and Haidee Roberts.

Due to the large number this year, we will split the Book Club into Juniors on Tuesdays (Mrs Roberts and Mrs Ott) and Seniors on Wednesdays with Mrs Hurley. We will continue to meet twice a term around week two and eight, giving everyone time to read and enjoy their books between meetings.
