Our Māori and Pacifica students were joined by friends and whānau for our annual Success Evening. A number of performances were showcased and awards were presented.

Congratulations to Rosalie Gerlach (Tongan) who received the Pacific Excellence Award in recognition of her exceptional achievement in building the cultural fabric of Rangitoto College. Rosalie spearheaded language weeks and organised a diverse array of activities, cultural performances, and language and art events. She also earned a Find Your Greatness Kiwa Scholarship from the Auckland University of Technology (AUT). Rosalie is a remarkable representative of Rangitoto College.

Congratulations to Alysha Osborne (Whakatōhea) who was awarded Te Manukura (Esteemed Leader). Alysha’s dedication to ensuring that Māori culture is not only celebrated but also visibly honoured is truly commendable. She consistently embodies manaakitanga by caring for her teina through her role as a Māori leader in school and in kapa haka. Alysha also received an Excellence in Leadership Medal and a Rangitoto Trust Scholarship. She is continuing her studies in 2024 at Te Wananga Takiura.
