Kabayan provides a space for both Filipinos and non‑Filipinos to connect, celebrate, and share culture together. Throughout the year, we’ll host interactive events that bring a slice of the Philippines to Rangitoto, giving students the chance to learn, participate, and have fun.
Opportunities include:
- Practising Tagalog and singing Filipino songs
- Learning traditional dances such as Tinikling, Bulaklakan, and Pandanggo
- Experiencing authentic Filipino food and merienda
Kabayan is more than just a club—it’s a community. Join us to celebrate culture, make new friends, and share in the joy of the Filipino spirit.
Students must attend a minimum of 6 sessions in order for “Kabayan” to be added onto your student profile. It is expected that you make a meaningful contribution to the events planned.
In order to have your activity added to your profile in time to be recognised at prizegiving, please ensure it is added by:
- Year 9, 10 and 11: 20 November 2026
- Year 12 and 13: 24 September 2026
Please check that your profile data is being updated regularly throughout the year.
