Majority of the athletics events take place in Term 1, with Nationals being held at the end of Term 4. Cross Country events take place in Term 2.
Event Venues and Transport

Athletes are selected to represent Rangitoto College in athletics and cross-country at the Auckland championships based on school event results, as well as personal records.

The school Athletics Day is held early in Term 1, and the school Cross-Country is held in late Term 1 or early Term 2. We will advise at the start of the year whether the school cross-country is mandatory for Year 9 and 10 students. It remains optional for senior students.

Students interested in competing at Auckland Zones and national-level events should participate in our school events. While some coaching is available through the school, most technical coaching takes place at local clubs.

Uniform

Sports singlets will be loaned to students for each event. Black shorts or tights must be worn with the school singlet.
