BACKOur Community Garden has been sustaining good harvests. Each Tuesday morning, Leaders Runjing (Andrew) Xue, Kevin Kang and Cheng Pan gather and take vegetables to our local food bank for distribution to the community.
Further planting of winter crops, such as broccoli and cabbage, and early planting of beans and spring onions have taken place during lunchtime sessions and the seedlings are growing well with the regular rainfall and bouts of sunshine between showers. Together with our wonderful staples of kale, spinach and silverbeet, these should ensure a steady supply from our garden.
We are thankful for our many helpers and leaders who show wonderful commitment to our community garden. We are now looking for new leaders to begin training for Term 4 roles. This should allow our senior leaders to prioritise their examination study while offering opportunities for younger helpers to develop sound leadership skills and experience.
