BACKWe set about our 2026 Community Garden service before the start of the school year. Thank you to Leaders Nibedita (Puja) Sarker, Runjing (Andrew) Xue, Hong Yeit Huang, Ruhao (Mia) Long, Methushi Wijesooriya, Cheng Pan, and Mrs Crowe, who came in during their holidays to rejuvenate our garden. After 5 hours of hard labour, weeding and pruning the garden, our keen gardeners planted new seedlings for early winter harvests, including beans and lettuces, as well as a variety of brassicas.Our School Expo in Week 1 was a triumph, with over fifty students signing up to join as helpers. Leader Kevin Kang organised a well-attended lunchtime session to introduce new helpers to our processes, including how to sign up for duties. Future plantspeople then stayed on to learn more about the plants, weeding and watering.
It is great to have so many enthusiastic helpers!
