The Year 12 Physical Education Camp took place at Action Matakana between March 2 and March 6. The camp was an opportunity for students to showcase their leadership skills in a variety of challenges, including a low-ropes course, boat building, and survival skills.
The standout moment, however, was the confidence course. This saw students scaling walls, navigating balancing beams, and trudging through the mud. Our students’ determination, teamwork, and enthusiasm were clear to see.
Over 160 Year 12 Performance Sports Science, Physical Education, and Outdoor Education students were involved, plus a large number of teachers from the Health and Physical Education Department. The students were split into two groups, with each group staying two nights in tents in a large paddock to add to the challenge.
The Year 12 Physical Education camp will be one of the highlights of the year for many of the students who attended. It provided them with the skills to be successful both in and out of the classroom in 2026 and beyond. Thanks to the Health and Physical Education Department for making it happen, and whānau for supporting us on this journey.
