The 2025 hockey season has been one to remember, with incredible achievements from teams and individuals across all levels of the programme.

  • Team Manaaki – Winners of their grade! A remarkable feat, especially after a challenging winter where they often played short of players.
  • Team Hiranga – Crowned champions in a thrilling 9–8 final.
  • Team Taute – Finished runners-up in their grade, a fantastic result that signals exciting opportunities for progression into the 1st XI and 2nd XI in 2026.
  • Team Kererū – Bronze medal winners after a nail-biting penalty shoot out

Girls 1st XI – Season Review

The 2025 season has been an exceptional journey for our Girls 1st XI. Beginning under the pressure of a relegation match and evolving into one of the most competitive Premier grade campaigns in recent years, the team has demonstrated immense growth, resilience, and unity.

From the first whistle, the players showed grit, determination, and a drive to continuously improve. Week after week, they faced formidable opposition, rising to each challenge with maturity and a positive team culture that grew stronger throughout the season.

Notably, the team faced eventual champions St Cuthbert’s College twice—proving that the gap between the top five schools is narrower than ever. Their place in the Bronze medal match was a fitting reflection of the hard work, belief, and passion that defined this campaign.

This has been a season of breakthroughs and consistently high-level hockey, one that marks an important milestone in the continued growth of the programme. Congratulations to all involved on an outstanding year.

Boys 1st XI – Season Review

The Boys 1st XI also enjoyed a superb 2025 season. Starting out in the North Harbour competition and winning it, the team quickly built momentum and earned their place in the Supercity A1 grade. From there, they continued to raise their standard of play, going on a strong run that culminated in their first A1 Grand Final appearance in a decade.

Their progress is a true credit to the squad’s commitment, determination, and growing cohesion. With a promotion/relegation match for Premier Grade on the horizon in early 2026, the future looks very bright for this group of players.
