Spanish Debating: Compete Nationally, Boost Your Profile—Spanish Debating offers students in Years 11–13 the opportunity to take their Spanish skills far beyond the classroom!

This is high-stakes practice where you prepare to compete in the National Spanish Debate Competition (usually Term 2).

This is a serious commitment that looks fantastic on your student profile for university applications and future opportunities.

Team Structure & Commitment

Due to the competitive level, we focus on building two elite teams:

Junior Category: Year 11 Students
Senior Open Category: Years 12–13 Students

Expectations: To succeed at the national level, team members must be prepared to commit fully. This includes attending mandatory after-school practices and dedicating extra time outside of class to research and prepare compelling arguments.

Try-outs: Because we can only enter two teams per category, try-outs will be held if we have a high number of students wishing to participate.

Rangitoto Summit Diploma

The Spanish Debating Competition is not open to Year 9 and Year 10 Junior Students. Rangitoto Summit Diploma is not applicable for Year 12 and Year 13 students. Participation will be captured in your student records.
