The Ancient Greek Club meets once a week at lunchtime and gives you the chance to:

• Learn the basics of the language—alphabet, common words, and pronunciation
• Practise writing and speaking simple phrases
• Translate short extracts from real Greek texts into English

Together, we’ll explore epic poetry, Greek tragedy, and the culture that shaped them—discovering the values, beliefs, and unique turns of phrase that still resonate today. Each translation comes with a full vocabulary list, and over time you’ll start to recognise words and phrases on your own.

Whether you’re a total beginner or just curious, new members are always welcome. Bring your curiosity, your love of stories, and join us to unlock the language and culture of the ancient world!
