The St Mary by the Sea’s Can Drive and the Non-Uniform Day are excellent illustrations of what can be achieved when our school community unites to make a positive impact. The Can Drive involved students and staff donating staple foods, such as canned goods and pantry items, to help support local families to put food on the table. This is a simple yet effective gesture that helps those struggling to access healthy food and feel supported by their wider community.
Alongside this, the Non-Uniform Day added a fun and interactive element by allowing students to swap their usual school uniform for casual attire in exchange for a gold coin donation. The money raised was passed on to St Mary directly, making the most of our collective efforts.
These events were more than just fundraisers; they were opportunities for us all to practice kindness, charity, and a desire to help others. The enthusiasm and participation from students and staff members alike highlighted the strong spirit of empathy and cooperation in our Kura. Together, these projects illustrate what we can achieve when we unite for a good cause to create a positive impact in our community.
