BACKEarlier in August, 36 lucky Year 9-13 Rangitoto College female students travelled into the city to discover the world of tech at the Westpac ShadowTech event. This gave them the chance to explore career pathways in the industry and spark their curiosity about the tech industry.
Students moved around different areas of the event, gaining hands-on experience with various workshop activities (including creating a city out of Lego!), plus heard authentic and inspiring stories from those in the tech industry, along with some wonderful insights from Westpac’s CEO Catherine McGrath.
This broadened the students’ horizons, with many saying they are now considering a career path within this industry.
