MUNA 2025, organised by Rotary, took place at Rosmini College in Week 3, and is an event for high school students across Auckland and Northland to simulate the United Nations Assembly, discussing topical issues, country perspectives, and international relations.

We had 2 awesome teams from Rangitoto this year, being selected to represent Botswana and Guyana. It was a really eye-opening experience representing a country, in a UN context, and helped us learn more about diplomacy and types of public speaking. It was great meeting lots of other students, and the event reinforced the importance of collaboration and international understanding, especially as an international student myself, here at Rangitoto.

Olivia, on the Botswana team, said, “The concept itself is brilliant: giving Year 12 & 13 students the chance to speak and step into the shoes of real diplomats. Surrounded by passionate young people, I was inspired by their knowledge, eloquence, and debating skills. MUNA truly sparked my interest in global issues and made me reconsider my university path.”
