Congratulations to the Junior Prize winners who were acknowledged and celebrated on 11 December!
Ex-Student, Nick Malcolm, a Kiwi lifeguard who saved a Danish prince caught swimming in a dangerous rip tide is back at work but "overwhelmed" by the attention, his boss said today.
The Party Bus Company will be at school to pick up students at the end of school at 12.00 midday on Friday 11 December.
All other students who use any other bus service will have to make their own arrangements to get home.
Clara has been selected to play viola in the 2016 New Zealand Secondary Schools Symphony Orchestra. Clara is currently in Year 9 and plays viola in the Rangitoto Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra and Sinfonia Orchestra.

The Parent Teacher Association (PTA) held their AGM on Monday 16 November. It was with sadness Jayne Albiston stepped down from the role of President. Jayne has been a driving force in engaging the parent and caregivers with the school community. Jayne is staying on the committee.
Emma has been accepted for admission to the 2016 associate programme at the New Zealand School of Dance as a contemporary major. This means she will visit Wellington six times a year to receive tutoring and mentoring from tutors.
Congratulations to all students who received awards for service and achievement in the Arts at Rangitoto College at our annual Arts Awards evening on 21 October. This was an outstanding event and a true celebration of our talented students.
Giverny is an incredibly talented Year 10 Dance student, and has recently been cast in this Justin Bieber video.

Isabella has been accepted into the National Brass Band, playing 3rd Cornet. This is an auditioned ensemble for brass and percussion players up to the age of 23, and they will rehearse together in January.
An award afternoon was hosted by the Technology Department to recognise student's from within this Department who participate in the Trade Based Courses - Construction, Furniture, Engineering and Hospitality.
Today we had the pleasure of welcoming one of our ex-students from Germany back to the college.

Year 12 dance student, Georgia Chandler, has been awarded the AMP Rothbury regional scholarship for $5000.00 to assist her in getting to the World Latin Dance Cup to represent New Zealand. Georgia was selected for the scholarship through an application and interview process.
Congratulations to Carla Camilleri and Leo Jaffrey, our 2015 Performing Arts of the Year and joint winners of the Zigliani Cup for Excellence in Music.
Rangitoto College Magnum Dance Troupe placed 4th and Magnum Dance Company placed 6th at the DANCE BRANDZ National Finals - this is a great achievement as they were the only school groups in the competition!
The 2015 Senior Shakespeare production of Antony and Cleopatra has been nominated in three I-ticket Showdown Awards categories.

Helena recieved Distinction in her American Tap Exam (over 95%) and received a New Zealand Academy of Modern Dance Scholarship.
Congratulations to the Premier Boys Basketball team. Now the National Champions 2015!
Special mention to Isaac Davidson, Dan Fotu and Tai Wynyard for being named in the tournament team.
